On Monday, photographs were taken of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling working together on the set of the highly anticipated Barbie movie.
On the set of Venice Beach, the platinum-colored Barbie and Ken donned rollerblades, accessorising the skates with neon outfits and the required visors. They then grinned as they rolled down the boardwalk while wearing the rollerblades.
Also on Monday, Robbie was caught on camera engaging in some four-wheeled shenanigans with America Ferrera, who previously appeared in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Robbie sported a hot pink halter top with flared pants that matched perfectly for that particular occasion. Ferrera, on the other hand, was seen wearing the same bright yellow rollerblades but was dressed more subtly in a button-down shirt with blue and pink stripes and black pants.
A third photograph taken on set showed comedian Will Ferrell, who, according to The Hollywood Reporter, is expected to play the role of the CEO of a toy company in the film, posing with his own pair of roller skates. The actor’s combination of a pink shirt and tie with a black suit made him stand out visually.

In April, during CinemaCon, Warner Bros. Pictures shared a first-look image of Margot Robbie acting out her role as the iconic Mattel doll. This provided audiences with their first official look at Robbie in the role. Robbie, dressed as Barbie, can be seen grinning and leaning forward in the photo while wearing a blue and white polka-dotted headband and a matching striped halter top. The photo was taken inside of a pink Chevrolet Corvette convertible.
The following week, at the beginning of this month, Warner Bros. released an image of Ryan Gosling in his role as Ken, giving fans their first look at the actor in the role. Gosling, who is 41 years old, posed for the picture and displayed his platinum blonde hairdo as well as his abs while wearing a ripped denim jacket.
Issa Rae, Kate McKinnon, Simu Liu, and Michael Cera are also featured in the film that Greta Gerwig directed and helmed as the director.
Robbie stated the following in an interview with British Vogue in the previous year: “People generally hear Barbie and think, ‘I know what that movie is going to be,’ and then they hear that Greta Gerwig is writing and directing it, and they’re like, ‘Oh well, maybe I don’t…’ “
She went on to say that the role “comes with a lot of baggage,” referring to the controversy that has been surrounding the doll throughout history. The actress who was nominated for an Academy Award stated, “And a lot of nostalgic connections.” “However, with that comes a large number of interesting approaches to tackling it.”
The official launch of Barbie is scheduled for July 21, 2023.
