Dr. Shohreh Ghasemi is an exceptional Iranian oral surgeon, adjunct assistant professor at Augusta University’s OMFS Department, faculty member at the Georgia School of Orthodontics, speaker, and human rights activist. She has made remarkable achievements in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery, community development, and human rights advocacy.
Born on January 16, 1984, in Tehran, Iran, Dr. Ghasemi graduated from high school in 2001 and earned an associate’s degree in laboratory science in 2003. She then pursued her BDS in dental surgery in 2009 from Sharjah University, followed by an MS in Aesthetic Dentistry in 2015 from Manchester University in the UK. She also obtained her diploma in Laser and Skin and Physics in 2012 and joined the fellowship for facial cosmetic surgery in 2013.
In 2017, Dr. Ghasemi relocated to the US to enroll in the advanced program in aesthetics for international dentists at New York University, where she also received her associate fellowship in implant dentistry. Later that same year, she completed her master’s program in face implants in Las Vegas, United States. In 2018, she enrolled in the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya to study oral surgery.
Dr. Ghasemi began her career in 2012 as a practitioner in facial cosmetic surgery at Dream Aesthetic Clinic, Métis Clinic, and Sina Shemiran Day Clinic. She worked as a professor at Tehran Community College in the same year and later became a facial cosmetic surgery instructor at Tehran University and a facial cosmetic surgery trainer at Pishro Teb. In 2014, she joined the Ilya Alvarez Company as a critical doctor and was appointed an international associate at the Iranian Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery’s International Affair in 2016.
Dr. Ghasemi has also been recognized by the US state department for her efforts in community colleges and workforce development. She has provided treatments to over 250 patients, organized conferences, and conducted several types of research on “facial cosmetic surgery.”
She practices medicine at Wind Ward Healthcare and provides services to needy patients. She is also the author of several renowned books, including Innovative perspective in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Navigation in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Mini Invasive Techniques in Rhinoplasty.
In the wake of her sister’s sudden passing, she has decided to channel her grief into something positive by launching a non-profit scholarship academy organization in her sister’s memory. The organization, named after her beloved sister as the Shima Scholarship Academy, will provide educational opportunities to underprivileged students who may not have the financial means to pursue their academic dreams. With this initiative, she hopes to honor her sister’s legacy by making a difference in the lives of others and empowering them to achieve their full potential through education.
Dr. Ghasemi’s remarkable achievements have earned her a place as one of the top 10 cosmetic surgeons in the world by Entrepreneur magazine. She continues to dedicate herself to educating future generations of surgeons, positively impacting the lives of her patients, colleagues, and community.
