Sen. Lindsey Graham stated on Sunday that China would be seriously mistaken to support Russia’s war in Ukraine with lethal assistance.
In an interview with Martha Raddatz on ABC’s “This Week,” the South Carolina Republican said of China: “If you jump on the Putin train, you’re dumber than dirt.”
“It would be comparable to purchasing a Titanic ticket after watching the movie.”
Graham urged the Biden administration to designate Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism in his remarks from the Munich Security Conference in Germany. By doing so, the U.S. would be able to sanction countries that support Russia in its year-old conflict with Ukraine.
Graham supported the notion that Russia ought to be designated as a state sponsor of terrorism by citing Vice President Kamala Harris’ claim that Russia is committing crimes against humanity. She said in Munich on Saturday that “their actions are an assault on our common values, an attack on our common humanity.”
Graham deemed Harris’ assertion to be true.
The four countries that the US now considers to be state sponsors of terrorism are Syria, Iran, North Korea, and Cuba.
The U.S. must train Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16 fighters, according to Graham, even though President Vladimir Putin and Russia may view this as an act of escalation. This will give Ukraine the ability to win the war.
Don’t be concerned about upsetting Putin, he advised. I’ve never been more confident about winning this war in Ukraine than I am right now, so worry about beating him. I observe unity on both sides of the political spectrum in America and abroad.
The South Carolina senator viewed the ongoing conflict broadly, seeing it as more than just a local conflict, as he has in the past.
The rule of law, human decency, and global order are at risk, according to Graham.
